Microsoft Access has a special feature called "data access pages." These are easy-to-create webpages that connect to your database, enabling users to view the database, add data, change data, and so on.
Of course, you would not put a data access page on the Internet for the entire world to make a mess of your business database. A data access page normally belongs on an in-house intranet, that is, a private network that uses the same technology as the Internet (TCP/IP, ftp, http, and so on).
